Confidence

Confidence.

Something I had- then I didn’t - then I had in some areas of my life but not others.

My confidence was largely linked to external validation…hence the fragility of it all.

Confidence is derived from Latin word fidere which means “to trust”.

Building trust requires:

  • honouring your word

  • showing up consistently

  • doing difficult things

Thought we were done? Nope!

This is where we get gritty with...

  • navigating new experiences

  • emotional literacy

  • admitting and learning from mistakes

  • speaking to yourself with honesty and compassion

  • recognizing and celebrating growth

Building self-confidence is a process of building self-trust.

Through big swings, messy middles, wobbly attempts, level ups, and let downs.

There is no hack.

Self-confidence is earned.

True, stable confidence is an inside job.

As coaches and teachers we are here to guide, educate, encourage, challenge, and support. We believe in them. We see what is possible. Our most powerful approach is to build them up from the inside out.

Our voice becomes the voice in their head.

If there is one thing I know deeply and intimately - when it comes to self-confidence,  the voice in our heads counts the most.
