We Only See the Highlight Reel

We don’t show the clumsy, uncoordinated, graceless attempts.

We don’t show frustration, disappointment, and jealousy.

We don’t show the crooked lines, awkward choreography, disastrous turns.

But they are always there. They are critical to the process. Yours and theirs.

If you feel like you are the only one failing and flailing. You aren’t. Anyone pushing for growth is in the messy middle of missteps and mastery.

Keep going.

All of the work demands to be explored. Every moment is an invitation for your own growth. Don’t worry about the others. You will only ever see their highlight reel.

We rarely see the full picture.

We rarely show our full process.

It’s easy to get caught in the scroll.

It’s easy to make assumptions.

It’s easy to make up stories about all of it.

Put the phone down.

Put the comparisons away.

Go back to your craft – your goals – your love.

Go back into the messy middle of mastery.
